Material Blast Swelled

Top Previous Next

This dialog box is called from each General Material Log. It allows users to set the material properties of the next material excavated and logged in the General Material Log. If the Include Blast Swell check box is set in the General Material Log, blast swell will be included in the calculation of bank volume and final swelled volume of the excavated material.

If the Include Blast Swell check box is set in the General Material Log, it is assumed that excavated material is already blast swelled. This material is then de-swelled by the appropriate Next Bank-to-Blast Swell Factor to calculate its Bank Volume. This Bank Volume is then swelled by the Next Bank-to-Final Swell Factor to calculate the Final Swelled Volume. Only Bank Volume and Final Swelled Volume are logged in the General Material Log.

Next Bank SG

In-situ (bank) specific gravity of next excavated material.

Next Bank-to-Final Swell factor

Total swell factor of next excavated material (bank to final).

Next Final Swelled SG

Final (fully swelled) specific gravity of next excavated material.

Next Bank-to-Blast Swell Factor

Swell factor of bank material swelled by the blast (excluding blast gain material).

Next Blast-to-Final Swell Factor

Differential swell factor into final spoil of material already swelled by the blast (excluding blast gain material).

Next Blast Swelled SG

Specific gravity of material swelled by the blast (excluding blast gain material).

Next Bank Density

In-situ (bank) density of next excavated material.

Next Blast Swelled Density

Blast swelled (excavated) density of next excavated material.

Next Final Swelled Density

Final swelled (excavated) density of next excavated material.
