Dozer ParametersThe Dozer Parameters dialog box allows: •Creation of new simulated Dozer. •Editing the parameters of existing simulated bulldozer. Users can: •Select a type of bulldozer •Set the Dozer’s geometrical and operating dimensions •Set the Dozer’s movement parameters •Set the Dozer’s carry envelope •Set the colors used to show the dozer on the terrain surface. The Dozer’s parameters are used when showing a dozer on the terrain surface and when dozer productivity is calculated. Note that dozer (as well as other machines) may be placed only on the terrain surface and not on inner surfaces.
Dozer nameThis chooses a Dozer from the list of existing Dozer. The parameters of this Dozer may then be edited and saved, or the Dozer may be deleted. Select PageThis page allows users to select the types of different Dozer. Two types of Dozer are available. The user can choose the desired type by clicking the selector to choose Type 1 or Type 2. Bulldozer type 1. Bulldozer type 2.
Dimension PageThe dozer position, geometrical sizes and operating parameters are available on this page. The main dozer dimensions are shown in the picture below: In the fields East and North users can specify the position where the dozer is to be placed on the Terrain Surface. Horizontal angleThis allows users to set the horizontal orientation of the dozer. The angle is measured from North positive in a clockwise direction.
Draw scale factorThis setting allows increasing the size of the bulldozer image on the screen up to 50 times. Blade widthThis parameter defines the width of the dozer blade. It is not used for productivity calculation, only to show dozer shape on the terrain Blade heightThis parameter defines the height of the dozer blade. It is not used for productivity calculation, only to show dozer shape on the terrain Maximum volume moved (each cycle)This is the maximum volume of the material moved by the dozer each cycle. The value is used for productivity calculation. OperationThe parameters on this page define operational characteristics of the bulldozer. They are used in the calculation of the dozer productivity. Dead time (each cycle)This defines the time loss in the beginning of the new cycle. Gear change lost timeThis parameter defines the time loss during the change of the dozer’s movement direction. Bulldozer weightThis specifies the weight of the bulldozer. Friction resistance coefficientThis sets the friction coefficient of the moved material. Rolling friction forwardRolling friction reverseDrawbar Pull VS SpeedExcavated material logLog materialThis option specifies whether to store information on volumes and masses of material moved by this dozer in a Machine Log. Details of this are described in the Material Logs topic. Default dozer logThis option allows users to select the Machine Log where information on volumes and masses of material moved by this dozer will be stored. Log used inThis list shows the names of machines for which the selected Machine Log is also used. ColorsIn this page the user may set the colors for: •Different elements of the selected dozer, •A background color for the Show Window, and •Lighting parameters to render the dozer (i.e. illuminate it with a light source) when the terrain is not rendered. Render machine. This option turns rendering of the dozer image (i.e. illuminating it with a light source) on or off. When the terrain is not also rendered parameters need to be set for the Dozer’s rendering as below. Light source vertical. This parameter defines the vertical angle of the light source. It is measured from the vertical (in degrees). This parameter is used to render the dozer when the dozer is drawn on a non-rendered terrain. Light source horizontal. This parameter defines the horizontal angle of the light source. It is measured from North (in degrees) with clockwise positive. Color range. This setting defines the darkest render color for the parts of the dozer with minimum illumination. The parameter is shown as a percent of the difference between the base color and black. Thus a value of 100 gives black as the darkest render color. Close buttonClick this button to close the Dozer Parameters dialog box. If the Save button has not been pressed and changed made to the current Dozer, 3d-DigPlus will prompt whether to save the changes. New buttonClick this button to create a new dozer. All existing dozers and the four default types are available to be a prototype for the newly created machine. Save buttonClick this button to save all parameter changes for the current dozer. Show buttonClick this button to see a preview of the current dozer. The preview will be shown in a graphics window. A view control window will appear and may be used to zoom/pan/rotate the dozer. To switch off the preview mode just close the preview window by clicking system close button in the preview window’s title. Delete buttonClick this button to delete the current dozer from the dozer list. The program will prompt for confirmation before deleting the dozer. |
