The first task in setting up a new design file is to load the data for the topography. Once loaded this data set is triangulated and gridded.

In 3d-DigPlus the topography is called the Terrain Surface. Typically this data will be in the form of a DXF file which is imported. The following video clip illustrates the process of importing topographic data:
