Dragline Prestrip Integration

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The Dragline Prestrip Integration module is to designed to rapidly model a pit which utilises dragline stripping preceded with truck and shovel stripping.

The system takes as input a model of the existing pit, consisting of topography and geology together with a strip layout consisting of Surface Features. Applying user defined parameters a set of pit shells is rapidly generated for every strip in the sequence. These pit shells include the pit floor, highwall and endwalls together with the dragline spoil profile on the low wall side. The dragline spoil pile includes ramps.

In addition the system allocates, on a block by block basis, material to the truck shovel pre-strip fleet and the dragline. An idealised pre-strip horizon surface is generated.

Finally the system generates a series of truck dump surfaces (one for each strip) which are designed to limit truck dumping to any particular strip.
