Surface Reshaping & Transport Analysis

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The 3d-DigPlus surface reshaping module takes as input a post mining topography and allows the user to create a final landform which conforms closely to specified slope criteria. It also includes a transportation analysis which assists in implementing the design, costing various options and allocating tasks between various equipment types.

Final landform design generally consists of two components:

1.Bulk earthworks. The bulk earthworks typically contains the major component of the operation by volume and is intended to reduce the surface slopes of the post mining topography to produce a stable landform.

2.Drainage and detailed earthworks. This processing whilst taking the reshape landform and implementing drainage channels contour banks etc as required to control erosion and produce a free draining landform.

The surface reshaping module is intended to perform task 1, bulk reshaping.
